Obviously the mayo empire is one big multihemispheric sundown town, but the US manages to be worse than the rest, the rural areas manage to be worse still, and then within that there are still standouts even by rural standards.

Is there a map of the standouts?

edit: I’m also interested in east/west coast and northern sundown towns. Everyone kinda knows the entire mid US is a giant sundown zone

Bumping because I probably have one in “over the weekend” driving distance and realized massive acts of vandalism against infrastructure used by racists is on my bucket list.

Any town in the entirety Central California, including the ones with oh so liberal colleges in them. The entire 5 cities region, and everything around that as well.

People regularly make neck slicing motions to black folks, in broad daylight, surrounded by college kids. They hang nooses on campus for Halloween. Blackface controversies every other weekend.

The schools in that region have the highest income inequalities in the entire nation (based on the wealth of student’s parents).

It is a widespread and accepted practice for your parents to build you a home next to the school so you don’t have to rent.

You don’t fuckin understand the scale of it man. These old money fucks living out in mansions in the country. 10 car garages, guest rooms that fit 5 grown men comfortably. These people don’t even flinch at spending $100k. That’s another Sunday to them.

Just drunk driving their asses off at their cute little “fundraisers” making racist comments to each other when they see the “help” (college volunteers…).

It makes me so angry sometimes I forget to breathe. And the fact that liberals will not give a single shit about any of it while demanding you give them your vote… wow.

probably 10 years ago now podcast guy Andrew Ti said when he moved across the country he looked at the SPLC’s hatecrime heatmap and planned his route to avoid potentially having car trouble in the worst places.
