Its not xeroxing, its copying. Its not a kleenex, its a tissue. but these brands have become identified so much with a product that their names have become generic for the product itself.

This is just the 21st century version of getting angry at someone saying to xerox a paper or hand them a kleenex.
Its not xeroxing, its copying. Its not a kleenex, its a tissue.
but these brands have become identified so much with a product that their names have become generic for the product itself.
I don’t think they’re merely complaining about synecdoche…
