Installed an IPS LCD screen and an enhanced audio amp mod. (The audio mod was mostly to bypass a capacitor on the audio circuit that had gone bad)

Battle Network!!
(Haven’t played it yet, but have played Star Force and get happy when I see anything Mega Man-related)
Does star force require good reflexes? I have problems with motor skills due to my autism, but I’m thinking of trying it. I heard it’s got a depressed protagonist so I’m interested in emulating the game (I know there’s a fanmade DX version ROM that apparently fixes issues in the original game)

I’m autistic too with no prior experience with Battle Network-style gameplay and my reflexes aren’t the best either (I can panic and make mistakes easily), but I still beat the final boss on the second attempt with little to no grinding, just playing the game with that ROM patch and doing all the sidequests. Haven’t done much of the post-game yet though.
The first Star Force game is rather easy compared to Battle Network before it, the patch even includes a custom hard mode you can turn on and off whenever you want, as lack of difficulty was a common critique among fans.
In short: it’s very doable, however things can get overwhelming with three or more enemies at once.
As for the story: a common opinion I’ve seen is that the Battle Network series has better gameplay, while Star Force (except 2, which fumbled it) has some of the best writing in the Mega Man franchise. The following bit is personal, so it may not hit you as hard as me.
The MC’s character growth has unironically been inspirational for me; the game’s aesthetic, theming and music fully understood me in the worst period of my life. It reminded me of what I want to be and do in a time where I felt hopeless about overcoming anxieties and incapacities. It made me believe in myself again. I haven’t been the same person since, and while I still fall in familiar pitfalls and still have anxieties about self-image and competence, I feel like now I’m truly growing up. (I’m 20 years old and studying)
Sounds good. I think I’ll try it out once I’m done with castlevania aria of sorrow new game+. In any case I can use savestate save scumming to compensate for my reflex issues. I’m also depressed and anxious so it sounds right up my alley lol
I really wish Capcom would get its head out of its ass and start making megaman games again (hopefully without the monkey’s paw)
Looks very cool, I’m envious! Plus a good game which I will never forget for its relentless use of the phrases “jacking in” and “jacking out” of various ports in the world. I jacked Megaman in so many things.

Looks nice, does it have one of those secret touch sensitive zones for controlling brightness? Are you going to keep modding it more, maybe a USB rechargeable battery?

This one is done as far as mods go, I have thought about doing the rechargeable LiPo battery mod, but I see many people express a lot of concern about batteries exploding online, so I’m on the fence about it
I got a fresh aliexpress battery for my SP a while ago, but I end up playing my gba games on my powkiddy v90 instead
you basically fixed its biggest issue, is battery life still decent though?
As difficult as it might be to believe, battery life is often improved by modern backlit IPS screens.
