Oh for sure, I kinda forgot this post was even about vance tbh. Just in the abstract, I don’t think he can win those states. I don’t think vance helps him do it, regardless of which people we’re talking about, nobody’s mind is getting changed on someone as central and polarizing as trump by a wet fart like JD Vance. You’re right though that his schtick is more likely to work on libs.

Vance is so opportunistic that he will be whatever he thinks he needs to be for this election. That’s probably the real reason he is the pick. He probably made promises to do whatever Trump wants to get them elected. That might mean a pretense of respectability or it might mean giving the MAGAs red meat. Or hell, both, they probably don’t need to be consistent.

Yeah, probably. I think he’s transparently a 2-faced political insider and hack to most people though, so I just don’t see it working that well.

I’ve seen a few Trump flags out here in the cold. But they’re pretty few and far between even out in rural areas. There’s this one guy who has a bunch of trump flags on his truck. He parks at Burger King most Saturdays and sleeps in his truck all day. It’s weird.

yeah, and I mean I’m not saying there aren’t a ton of rural republicans. But they don’t outweigh the cities, and at least the state I’m more familiar with has a healthy population of rural dems (not a majority of rural voters, but enough to make extra sure the state stays blue)
