I’m just gonna say it. The more I read about this True guy, the less I like him.

Sure, he did the Lord’s work when it came to manspreading or masking during a pandemic, and a lot of the other comics are at least a little relatable, but this…?

Some people wanted to see more problematic behaviour from Mr True so I’m trying to fulfil that wish lol trust that the next one will be justified though

None of his violent actions are really justified. Even his pro-union, anti-racist assaults are arguably counter-productive.

I think that’s why he’s drawn with a buffoonish appearance. It’s funny to laugh at the crazy guy going berzerk and committing acts of cartoon violence. The best humor has a tiny bit of truth: wouldn’t it be great to see annoying people get their comeuppance? But I don’t think it’s hypocritical to laugh at these cartoons while disavowing real-world violence.

Of course. The purpose of the Everett True comic is doling out cathartic, over-the-top justice to assholes who deserve it. My problem with the comic is not his methods but his bizarrely broad choice of targets.

Failing to clarify how long you as a shopkeep will be gone for does not an asshole make, let alone an asshole to be considered in the same breath as a union-buster.

Hmm good point… I guess I see him less as a deliverer of justice, and more of an expression of the human Id. I don’t really feel it to be cathartic, other than to leave me thinking: at least someone else finds that sort of thing annoying.
