They would sell you the DVD and then make you pay a monthly fee.
No-one could imagine such an evil business plan back in the 90s.
“Hell, half the time I’m actively rooting against him” is what did it for me.
There’s a “getting to first base” joke in there somewhere.
I thought the swiss people seemed sometimes kinda "rude"or maybe a better word for it “cold” and a little annoyed
I have some Swiss-American relatives, and I think this is cultural. They just have a different set of indicators, they’re not going to be grinning and hugging.
I have a friend who went to London and just ate at Whole Foods all the time. So, vegans can survive.
“smoke copium, non-resident”?
“Homies” explains it too: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PCJ_e76mz6Q
I dunno though, I just listen to the music.
Wow, I really like this story. I’m not sure why I like this one and not “The Great Awake”; if I had to answer, I’d say it’s “voice”, but that’s a cop-out. I guess it’s relatable but just outlandish enough to be safe.
An ok story. A neat idea but I wonder if the author really did enough with it, for its length.

They are 30-minute sessions. I did them in my car during work commute. Many public libraries have them. Here’s the first session: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eguDJPkjPwQ
I’ve used the Pimsleur language programs for a couple languages. It’s audio based: you hear a recording, and you say it out loud. A great way to get started.
This would make an awesome episode of “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia”
100M view from normies or 10 upvotes from chads. You decide.
Interesting movie; it was an odd experience to watch it dubbed, I think it made the “Mouse” character come across a lot differently. Jennifer Beals always looks awesome though.
visiting a neat-sounding community and realizing all the posts are by the single moderator (and are getting less and less frequent).
This will be a key moment towards Lemmy’s growth or decline. Especially in non-tech/meme/politics communities, it’s so easy for the only poster be a single person who is posting daily, and who then simply runs out of content. Maybe the solution is for each frequent poster to post non-daily on several different communities. Anyway, check out !fedigrow@lemm.ee, @Blaze@reddthat.com has started posting a weekly thread on “How is your niche community doing?”
Thanks for this one too.
