It’s kind of sad that someone that rich and powerful isn’t immune to the addictive nature of Twitter. Like does he not realize how much of a loser he looks like for being so obsessed with what people online think of him?

I wish you were right, but I’ve met far too many white dudes who watched Wolf of Wall Street and are obsessed with Musk and Belfort. It’s super cringe

The old breeds of rich tried their best to stay away from public’s eye, but the new crops like Elon’s fortune is built on the attention he is getting.Even if vast majority of population consider Koch as devil’s incarnation, that will not have any major effect on his wealth. It is not the case for Elon.

Elon Musk does come from old money though, that’s why I find it so weird that he behaves like someone who just won the lottery and has this drama-obsessed “haterz gonna hate😎” mindset.

I think it takes a very special type of insecurity for someone who comes from old money to be so desperate for attention. Musk’s fortune isn’t built on the attention he gets from his antics, it’s built on the labor of his workforce. The average person on reddit/Lemmy knows 100x more about Musk’s embarrassing antics than the average Tesla customer, and the same can be said about most rich buffoons like Bezos, Gates, etc.
