SpongeBob and Slimetime are coming to the Super Bowl. The NFL and CBS Sports have announced that this season’s Super Bowl will have a kids-centric presentation on Nickelodeon.
This marks the first time the Super Bowl has had an alternate telecast on a different network.
I’m not sure I’d do it for the Super Bowl or my team’s game. Other games maybe.
Give me prime vision as the best broadcast though. I don’t need the stats (though I don’t mind them at all), but the camera angles showing the whole field are amazing compared to traditional hyper zoomed broadcast.
I don’t really have a team so I’ll usually watch the Nick versions if I can. But yeah I don’t think I’d do it for the Super Bowl, it’d feel weird. And the commercials will almost definitely be different.
Prime vision is an alternate video feed that uses the all-22 feed (or something close to it). It uses their AI nonsense and overlays the routes guys are running and a variety of interesting presnap data (one example is average depth the secondary is playing in real time).
I like the data, but the angle is the killer feature for me. The broadcast angles are old based on tiny TVs and I hate how much is cropped out.
Playoff games on Nick are significantly more fun and better than the regular broadcasts on CBS / FOX / NBC.
Change my view.

I am 99.9% sure that’s the broadcast I’ll pick for this year.
I’m a Vikings fan… it won’t be “my team’s game,” LOL
Edit: also, what is Prime Vision? I’m assuming TNF games on Amazon - I stopped watching TNF a few years ago due to my schedule but it sounds awesome!

The Manning casts are pretty good too.
