The Xbox’s are named the way they are because the Playstation is named the way it is.
Xbox don’t want to have the Xbox 4 versus the Playstation 5 because, quite honestly, people are generally dumb and would see that 5 is a bigger number than 4 so assume the Playstation is newer and better.
