My mother got me some red wine for my birthday and I am finally drinking it. I forgot how low my tolerance to alcohol is lmao. Should not have drank it that fast. How’s y’alls day been? I had a minor medical emergency so that was fun

This reminds me of my border crossing into Russia two weeks ago, I had also forgotten how bad I am with alcohol (I hadn’t drunk for over 500 days prior) and a Russian man decided to give vodka to everyone around (we had already waited around 4 hours, it had rained and everyone was cold). When I gave his glass back, he then proceeded to refill it and give it back to me with some German liquor (there was no vodka left). Thankfully the queue to actually enter the border crossing point lasted for another 2-3 hours, so I wasn’t entirely drunk when I had my passport and everything controlled.

      500 days 😳

I’m honestly impressed. I don’t go out of my way to drink but its in my face enough that I definitely couldn’t go that long without drinking unless I was actively trying

Well I am indeed actively refusing to drink, under normal circumstances (there isn’t really a deep reason why, I just don’t like to be drunk, and especially since I get drunk quite easily I prefer to just never drink alcohol); this time was an exception given the situation, it felt awkward to refuse when I couldn’t even speak Russian to explain why, and I found the whole thing so absurd that it felt more funny than anything to give in that one time.

Funnily enough this isn’t the only time I’ve “had to” invest alcohol on this trip: yesterday I was eating in Limburg, Germany, and I wanted an Apfelschorle but I instead recieved cider, which I only realised once I had ingested some because it basically is the same thing but with a bit of alcohol. But since it was “just” cider, the shame of going back and explaining in my broken German that I wanted something else got the better of me. Maybe I would’ve said it if I didn’t drink at the Russian border a few weeks before. First as a tragedy, second as a farce…

Once I’m back in France I’m going back to my normal dogmatism on the matter. nyet

I was awakened <30 min ago by the dogs jumping on the bed because they were excited by the sounds of some kind of animal disagreement in the forest outside my house. I don’t think it was coyotes – way too brief – but 🤷

Will your minor medical emergency leave a cool scar or make a hilarious story someday?

Unfortunately not, we still dont know what it is but I cant piss among a few other weird symptoms. Could be a bladder stone, an enlarged prostate, or anything else. Any scars would be internal
