It’s wild that Iowa, once a leader is progressive change, will be the last state to legalize weed. Probably not really since there’s Nebraska and the Dakotas but it’s a race for last.

I came in to say that. We have dispensaries, but medical is limited to the most extreme - if you have cancer or are dying (within a year) AND are in pain or can’t eat, MS, ALS, Crohn’s, and luckily PTSD. I just want a reprieve from my anxiety sometimes! 😭

Medical is now less limited in Iowa (surprised the clinic people aren’t advertising yet here on Fediverse) but it’s all edibles and concentrates - no flower. Because reasons?

Depends on how you look at it, last time I was in town it was sorta legal. I was able to buy flower from a dispo in Iowa a year or so back, and I got to listen to the cashier rant about how stupid the laws are (I asked upon seeing a sign to do so lol).

Apparently due to some quirk in the rules, they could sell flower, edibles and certain paraphernalia legally, unless they had anything for inhalation (carts, papers, lighters, etc). Went on a big rant about how just selling paper or lighters would turn a legal product behind a display case into a felony.

I was able to get some bomb THC gummies while I was in state from them too.
