People got distracted by those outrageous Crested eyebrows.

I think Snowy will take care of that fella though, so you will be avenged!

It’s not an easy road, but the odds aren’t too unkind for that to happen.

The later matches have had much more participation, so it’s hard to gauge how well Burrow is positioned against Snowy for example.

Snowy has a high chance of success, but I wouldn’t bet on it being twice as popular as Burrow.

I might give Burrow a slight edge over GHO, though that’s not my personal taste, and if it gets past GHO, it will be facing likely the Screech or the current champ, WFS.

But as far as the community’s taste as a whole, Burrow stands as much a chance as they do, no question.

Snowy & barn still on course for a quarter final clash! I missed their rounds so must check in better. It’s an interesting side, if either get through to the semi there’s some real challengers there for the final spot still.

I’m not so familiar with the l/h side species but burrowing vs great horned is an interesting clash.

We’ve got a lot of great owls left. The matchmaking this year went a lot better than last year’s inaugural run.

I have a feeling how most of the rest of the matches will go, but it all depends on which of you show up in what days to vote. They’re all close enough it’s anyone’s chance still.

GHO vs Burrow I’m hoping will be really good. We haven’t had and real back and forth exchanges like last year yet, but as we get closer to the end and the decisions get harder, I hope we get some.

Learning new owls is one of the special parts, so I’m curious to hear which are the best surprises for you.

I’ll be looking out for the Buffy vs Saw Wet round in particular to learn a bit more. The latter had a lot of support last year and this year too so interested to see why.

All rounds are a hard choice given how superbowls are! (Dadum-tish)

I thought the barn owl may have won by more in the last round, just goes to show difficult the competition is!

Buffy and Saw Whet are both really great. I won’t spoil anything for you.

This year some of the bigger surprises have been which owls aren’t getting votes. There’s been a few not doing as well as I would have predicted. But I never know who is voting on what days so it’s hard to pin down a rhyme or reason.

I’m glad you’re enjoying the games though, I know I like doing them!

I am happy that Short and Long Eared Owl won their rounds. Sad to see Sooty go, but it was up against GHO, who deserved to make it out of round one. I really hope Saw Whet can go all the way, but Snowy is formidable.

I root for Long Ear so much and it bewilders me why it isn’t more popular. It is so pretty!

I’m currently sweating Burrow vs GHO.

Saw Whet seems to be generating much chatter in the comments.

Snowy is kicking tail, but is too popular for me to get excited for it. I would have loved to see an oddball like Milky dominate that side of the bracket, but I’ll accept the Ruru if I can’t keep Milky.

Rarity seems to not be advantageous this year. I was a bit surprised as it did better than the Eagle Owl last year.

I love the Blakiston’s, but I kinda don’t want it to do well as it is rare enough it is really hard to get pics of, which is why I don’t post it during the year. If it keeps winning, I think I would run out of pics to use.

It’s too good of an owl to not put in the contest though, so I lose either way! 😜 A little “behind the scenes” peak.
