I didn’t know the Pats were looking for a new center, hopefully Zeke has worked on his blocking fundamentals in the offseason

Jokes aside, blocking might be his biggest role. He has the knowledge and tools for effective pass protection and while Rhamondre can also do it, it’s the kind of wear we’d like to limit to an extent while he’s taking the bulk of the touches.

Obviously Rhomondre will block if he plays on passing downs and Zeke will also run routes if he does pass blocking, but I think pass protection and short yardage are probably the intended role in whatever limited reps Zeke gets.

Yep, Bill loves having guys in specific roles and Zeke is still a solid blocker / pass pro. No doubt Mondre is the guy but zeke should see plenty of play.

Personally, I think being the pretty definite RB2 behind Stevenson will be good for Zeke at this point in his career. He also seems like he can fill the Damien Harris shaped hole on the team. Should be interesting to see how this works out.
