    Please expose some kind of volume control. <video> provides it by default. I keep doing this song-and-dance to Open Video In New Tab, so I can hear it without getting my ears blasted out, but you can’t even do that until you’ve already started the video, because until then, it’s not a real <video> element. And there’s no way to start either video muted. And thanks to Vine, ev-er-y video gets clipped to start at max volume or else it’s not funny.

    There are scripts to automatically redirect to the single video or image on a page - but they cannot work, because the video URL is kept like it’s fucking secret, until the video is already playing.

    Every page is a bare video, centered, on white. You do not need to force Javascript for this. Please use what HTML5 makes trivial.

      The dev is working on a new UI that’s coming soon, but in the meantime I’d recommend https://tesseract.dubvee.org/. It’s a really good UI for Lemmy in general, and also supports embedding Loops as regular <video> elements with browser-native controls.
