All media should swing anti-nazi. More movies about killing Nazis, more games about it, etc.

An unmentioned kinda out-of-the-box thing is Garry’s mod (gmod). Pretty sure there are downloadable models and/or skins for nazis, and you have a ton of tools for fucking them up in the most spectacular ways possible. There are mods for gibbing, better blood and bulletholes and stuff like that. Make Rube Goldberg machines ending in splattered nazis, strap them to rockets, build mediaeval torture devices etc. The fucking up nazi possibilities are endless!

Been watching Band of Brothers (then of course the sequel, The Pacific) and gameplay from The Darkness for this very “no particular reason”. The Darkness feels more cathartic.

Saboteur is one of those games I’m afraid to replay because I have such vivid memories of it being really fun and I don’t want to lose that.

I already somewhat ruined Morrowind with modern hardware doing distant rendering. Back in the day Morrowind had perpetual fog and you couldn’t see far, so all the places felt so far apart. It felt like a journey going from Vivec city to Ebonhart. But modern hardware has no problem with distant rendering and now I can see that I could spit from Vivec City to Ebonhart. It’s no longer a journey, it’s just an annoyance because “it’s right there”. The magic of traversal is lessened because things no longer feel like they’re far away.

And that’s what I’m afraid of, that some illusion of Saboteur gets shattered and with it the game will also feel lesser than it was.

In a somewhat similar vein, the remakes of both Halo: Combat Evolved and Bioshock modernized the lighting and in so doing completely destroyed the atmosphere.

I just played it for the first time 4 months ago and it still holds up incredibly well. The art direction definitely helps cut down on the expanded rendering capabilities of modern PCs. While you’ll still have some reduced resolutions of distant landmarks like the Eiffel Tower, you’ll barely notice it as the distance is often covered by buildings, trees, hills, Nazi fortifications, and so on.

That was such a fun game. Little asexual me didn’t care about the nudity, but the black and white aspect before liberating an area into color was such a cool Gimmick.

There is PvP in Path of Exile 2 and at least one known Nazi player. Go ahead and kill him when his Boosting Ground worker is off the clock.

    Hahaha, love this!

The Sniper Elite games are a gift to this world because they understand that the only thing more satisfying than shooting a Nazi in the balls is watching the bullet tear through their tiny tesitcles in glorious slow motion x-ray vision.

    Too dam right.

They even gave Hitler one testicle. It may or may not be accurate depending on what you read, but it’s still hilarious to shoot Hitler in the nuts and when the X-ray kicks in he’s only got one nut to begin with.

This is the first game list article where I’ve read anything beyond the titles of the games. And it was worth it. Thanks for the share and the great list!

The Sabateur is a bit rough around the edges as it was the last game pandemic put out before shutting down and they basically ran out of time andmoney. But I still enjoyed it at the time. Just know that you’re basically jumping into an old, clunky assassin’s creed/GTA-like

The driving in that game is absolute ass too lol

It has become a culture classic though, one of those games that become more liked as time goes on.

Yeah, I know, I’ve played it a few years ago. Was pretty fun. I’ve always been into stealth and such games. Commandos 2 and hitman codename 47 being some of my favourite games for kid me.

I was actually surprised to realise that I’ve played everything on the list except for the Indiana Jones (which I’ve downloaded but I haven’t got around to playing yet) and the captain America games.

I just started playing this based on a similar thread I saw earlier this week, and I haven’t put it down. It shows its age but it is an fantastaic and absorbing game. Easy to switch between mission focus and just killing Nazis for fun.

Yeah definitely. I really enjoyed running around the sandbox and just clearing out stuff mindlessly while listening to podcasts or talking on the phone. I wish they had a few more opportunities To destroy big targets like bridges and such. Those were some of the most satisfying things to ht
