Summary

Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Trump’s HHS secretary and a longtime anti-vaccine figure, stunned supporters by endorsing vaccines amid a Texas measles outbreak.

In a Fox News op-ed, he acknowledged their effectiveness in preventing disease and protecting communities. His shift outraged anti-vaxxers, with some denouncing him as a traitor.

Health experts, however, criticized his misleading claims about vitamin A as a measles treatment and his framing of vaccination as a personal choice.

His inaccurate reporting on outbreak deaths further raised concerns about his credibility.

Apparently he’s just spineless. He wants to avoid taking the blame for the coming measles epidemic but also say to take your cod liver oil.

He says different things according to who he is talking to. On more mainstream podcasts, he has remained reasonable about vaccines. Only casting a few doubts about the quantity of vaccines that are recommended. But on more fringe podcasts, he will alter his rhetoric to suit the conversation.

John Oliver did a great breakdown of his unclear stance on vaccines. He shows an extremely concerning habit of hand waving away his previous statements after he has been proven wrong. In the position of power that he finds himself in, that will likely be deadly for some of us. Not the first time a Kennedy felt absolved of any guilt in the death of other people though…

On the one hand he’s finally telling people to get vaccinated. On the other hand he’s telling people to treat measles with cod liver oil.

His stance on over processed food and some nutrition education is pretty good. Hopefully this trend continues.

That’s kind of what I’m thinking; everybody’s got some shit takes. Some of what he says is just common sense health, like we’re eating all these unnecessary additives that are banned in Europe, Canada. Some are industrial waste byproducts. Can we please stop doing that?? How can we be a first-world country if we don’t even have our health?

I know everybody’s making money off of feeding us industrial waste byproducts, getting us fat and sick, and selling us medicines & treatments but no cure. But what a terrible way to make a buck. That shouldn’t be allowed. We need easy & reasonably priced access to fresh & natural foods.

Even the fluoride comments can be viewed in a positive light. For example, if the benefits could be achieved through, eg mouthwash, perhaps we shouldn’t out it on drinking water.

To be clear I’m not suggesting a policy either way as I’m not an expert. However, it’s worth thinking critically without partisan perspectives.

So is the brain worm pro- or anti-vaccine? Did it change its mine? Or maybe there are multiple brain worms locked in a battle royale in that depraved, mostly empty skull of his?
