Did this technique work?
Whenever I look at medieval warfare I’m impressed by the ingenuity and the sheer amount of manual labour to get things done.
Imagine pushing a giant armoured cart while lugging a backpack full of rocks while getting pelted with arrows and whatever else the defenders decide to throw at you. Sheesh.
Filling up moats under fire was definitely performed successfully on at least several occasions! During the Siege of Jerusalem in the First Crusade (1099 AD), Jerusalem’s moat was filled in wide enough to allow a siege tower to reach the walls.
And then imagine your coworker looking up at you and saying, “Mondays, am I right?”
“Someone’s got a case of the Mondays! How about you turn that frown upside down mister.”
Those six guys definitely don’t have enough sticks to fill a moat. Did they have to make multiple trips? Delivery drivers really had it rough in the 1500s
The commute is the hardest part tbqh
They were really getting showered with tips though
We should try to improve society somewhat.
That looks perfect to turn into a crematorium with a few flaming arrows or boiling oil
Usually you would soak the hide roof with water first. Makes it pretty damn fireproof. Oil and other liquids wouldn’t be a huge problem unless they’re literally right below your walls (and your moat would be several feet wide at least). Arrows would still be an issue at closer range, but that’s why you cover this thing with your own volleys and siege engines.
Sounds like a euphemism
It’s even full of removeds
It would seem your instance likes the censor featureExcept that I can see it fine. Looks like it’s .world’s doing.
Wow, that’s the first time I’ve seen the function on .world. Is it new with the update or have I just never run into a usage case before, I wonder?
I don’t know, but I can test it again. A faggot is a bundle of sticks or twigs bound together as fuel. If it says “removed” in that last sentence, .world is censoring what you’re seeing. This sort of thing is why I left .world. I’m no fan of slurs, but preemptively removing words with no human input doesn’t sit well with me. Remove the comment and ban the user if the context makes it necessary, but don’t censor via bot.
