Grand Juries are often used when the state doesn’t have evidence or want the trial to be public because it would embarass the state. They used a grand jury to tourture Chelsea Manning in an attempt to turn her against Assange. It’s like a loophole to the constiution and bill of rights. They should be outlawed, but that might take an amendment to do.
