The Austrian Data Protection Authority has decided that the use of Google Analytics violates the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Other EU member states could follow suit, as regulators cooperate in a task force in the European Data Protection Board.

Ha! Good thing I just quit my day job as an SEO specialist. An entire industry based on googles whims and secret algo is incredibly fragile anyway. It’s insane how dependent nearly all business is on google. I hope they ban more of their tracking stuff!

Now Google Analytics is defeated forever and this ruling actually makes a difference in the world instead of nothing of actual consequence happening!

    Great!

Now all Data Protection Authorities in the World should do the same.

And also about Google fonts, “tagmanager”, javascript, etc. Cloudflare, and many others…

Basically any javascript from any US company in a EU website violate GDPR. Prove me wrong.
