“Ask Piracy” questions begging for what I can only assume are reasons to justify piracy are common; I guess a lot of people here still struggle with moral qualms about piracy.
A couple of weeks ago, one of these posters justified their act of defiance by saying that a proprietary font was used by a customer in some copy, but said customer didn’t include the font, so OP had to go pirate it. It got me thinking that this seems like a really horrible place to employ piracy: that it’s a huge amount of liability to take on on behalf of your employer - even if you’re self employed - in an situation that’s easily traceable by anyone even halfway trying to enforce copyright.
So, in an attempt to add some diversity to the conversation: when do you think it’s not justified, safe, or advised to pirate?
Never ever do anything even related to piracy anywhere near work stuff. That’s just asking for trouble.
