Not exactly an original opinion but I hate this. I watch ads on my Roku app, I watch them on the mobile app, can’t they just let it go on web browser? This just wreaks of greed

Every report i’ve passed claims yt is running in the reds for years, assuming this is true i can understand it.

But i’m still very happy adblock works for me on pc, the ads i get on tv are too many, too often.

Sometimes you have a product that’s a loss leader to hold marketshare instead

I can’t imagine adblockers are really that big of a deal, it’s just Google trying to get revenue off the 0.1% of people who use them

Also a lot of times revenue continues to grow while the company also has a good reason to believe the costs will result in more revenue in the future so they operate in the red with good reason to believe they’ll profit. It’s weird seeing such big companies do this though. It’s usually a thing with startups.

Companies that own many different companies need some to run in the red for tax breaks. If it’s in the red, it’s intentional and blocking ad blockers isn’t going to magically put them into the black.
