The Republican frontrunner in North Carolina’s 2024 gubernatorial race made a slew of antisemitic comments over the past decade including sharing a quote that has been attributed to Adolf Hitler. The newly unearthed social media posts, first reported by Jewish Insider, also show Mark Robinson, the state’s lieutenant governor, comparing the tearing down of a Confederate monument to both the Nazis’ first mass roundup of Jews and the racist horrors inflicted by the Ku Klux Klan.
The posts are the latest round of controversy for Robinson. Last year, he was captured on video calling straight couples “superior” to gay couples. And after Robinson characterized being transgender or gay as “filth,” the White House condemned his remarks as “repugnant and offensive,” the News & Observer reported. Those comments also led several state Democrats and LGBTQ advocacy groups to call for the lieutenant governor to resign. If he were to win the nomination, Robinson would likely face Democrat Josh Stein, North Carolina’s attorney general, who is Jewish.
So this black Republican is defending Nazis and the Confederacy? Well, it’s a good thing both of those groups highly respected black people.

I liked it.
Would be better without the parens because it leaves something for the reader to figure out, but not a bad joke at all.
He doesn’t need republicans to respect him. He needs them to give him money and power and they will happily do that as long as he runs defence for them while they make life worse for other black people. As long as he has money and power he will be insulated from the bad things his policies might inflict on him.

It’s not performative; it’s genuine but self-serving. The GOP supports Israel – not Jews, Israel – because its existence is a precondition of the End Times and they’re trying to accelerate those so they can get Raptured.

Republicans (or Evangelicals, who’ve taken over) only support Israel because it’s a required part of bringing about Armageddon, so they can all go and get in on the rapture and the liberals can be left to burn in hell.
Division of Church and State seems to be yet another bit of the Founding Father’s documents they do seem to ignore.
