I think the Touch Bar was a novel idea but I see two things that were needed for it to be a success:
It could not replace the function keys.
It’d have to be on some kind of mechanism that raised it slight at an angle when the Mac opened, perhaps up to a 30 degree angle so that you could use it when you were lower or higher to the keyboard.

Most important thing was #1 though.
I disagree. I would say that it’s downfall was because it tried to replace the function keys instead of being an addition to it.
