As much as I hated to see Mark Andrews go down, I can’t imagine this panning out well.
People ask how will anyone on the defense make a tackle. The answer is straight up and in a way that doesn’t massively injure players, period.
Some players do not use hip drop tackles, Wilson seemed to use them exclusively against the Ravens. It’s a visible, known act that can be penalized and fined such as helmet to helmet contact. Sure there will be instances of this being done accidentally or without malice intent. However, Refs being bad at their jobs is still no excuse for poor player safety.
Seriously the nfl is becoming sarcastaball. Like come on with shit
Yes, making more tackles illegal will surely fix this flag problem we currently have.
Can we just put flags on these guys now? Defenders are getting legislated out of their own profession
I wish the NFL based their officiating grades on media pressure from in game incidents that occur during national TV games .
They ignore bad calls no matter how egregious and nationally criticized by the media and do nothing to improve the situation.
But with a controversial injury incident, they take immediate action due to media pressure without even getting input from the actual players union .
Man I this sucks football was better when they allowed snapping necks and snapping arms and stabbing eyes to bring down runners.
The NFL stopped being a contact sport the day that Mahomes run versus the Titans was celebrated as a great play rather than a horrible embarrassment.
Whatever, eliminate hip drops. The game is so watered down at this point we might as well.
So teams should start drafting the biggest pass catchers they can so that smaller players can’t tackle them without a hip-drop tackle, forcing a penalty.
Enjoy the NFL while we still can boys
How tf are they supposed to tackle now? 😬
I don’t wanna be the guy that says “I’m down watching!” but at a certain point we just have to accept that this is a contact sport
Just another way referees get to effect the outcome of games exactly as intended…
They’ve been selective on how they call offensive holding and roughing the passer, add this to the list.
It’s time for the NFL to incorporate 2 hand touch
Offensive players can protect themselves by leaving their feet sooner. It’s unfair to put all of this on defense.
