You have to make a post or comment in the community with your lemmy.one account and then with your midwest.social account click the three dots on the comment and choose ‘appoint as mod’.
Having some issues with finding it on my Lemmy.one account

I’m using jerboa
Not sure if Jerboa supports that yet. In vain you should use the web for that task.
