I think lately it’s become focused too much on whatever the subject matter is, and leaves out the stuff that made it so fun originally. I hope it’s not more so because Matt and Trey are trying to make the show “more legit”/serious, but it’s definitely noticeable when you go back and watch the first few seasons.
Well, I think once it became topical, as they call it, at first, it became interesting. Like, something happens, can’t wait to see how South Park handles THIS. But, lots of people miss the show being centered on South Park and it’s citizens, self-contained. I am among those fans.
