It’s not hard to wire up a house with a mesh network. A little more work to wire it up with ethernet. Not especially expensive, especially compared to new building materials. Can’t say if that’s why OP thinks the author sucks but I definitely think this piece ain’t great

They don’t understand that Ethernet is a layer 2 protocol separated from physical carrier media. They are whining about wifi signal behind a metal plate. They opened with an attempted flex over conspicuous consumption of a low quality vacuum. The entire article is so densely dense. They are probably pissed about being placed on a performance improvement plan after writing absolute shit way past a deadline and their boss not caring about ‘muh wifi’ issues.
