Months before a Sgt. Richard Kelly fatally overdosed on fentanyl and methamphetamine while on-duty, his supervisors heard claims from his wife that he abused alcohol and pills and was “able to hide his intoxication well.”

    Investigators said they aren’t certain exactly how Kelly got his hands on the drugs. Records show Kelly had been tasked earlier in the day with destroying drugs seized by another police officer that morning.

    Reading the title I thought they would try to claim that he died from Fentanyl exposure while out in the field, but nope, he snorted some shit at his desk.

    I am not a huge fan of drug tests but officers should be tested before each shift or weekly or something.
