According to Jonathan Feigen of the Houston Chronicle, the Raptors getting Poeltl back is far from a sure thing, with Feigen mentioning that Poeltl could be more available than most think. Toronto should still be in the pole position for him very clearly, but they shouldn’t think that him coming back is a done deal.
Why did they give up a 1st for Poeltl if they were going to steer into a rebuild, anyway? I know it’s top 6 protected, but still
Because Masai has been fence sitting ever since they won that title back in 2019. He’s so in love with some of his own guys that I don’t think he can bring himself to do a full teardown.
