Announcement happening tomorrow morning. I have very little faith in DeWine showing the slightest care for trans teenagers… but I’m still holding onto hope somehow. As a trans person who couldn’t come out when I was younger, let me just say it is MUCH harder as an adult to start to transition. If he visited hospitals and talked to doctors about what kinds of treatments are available for anyone under 18, he knows that treatments for youth are NOT surgeries like some people lie about. Let these people live their lives and get the Rx care they need.

No matter your opinion on trans people playing sports, do not make decisions against someone’s healthcare because of the sports issue! Lives are on the line with this.

They know. They don’t care. They have to have an enemy to attack and justify conservative policies. It’s been Italians, Mexicans, queer people, “Welfare Queens”, black people, hippies, basically always Jews, and now trans people are the main focus. The sports “argument” and every other “argument” they use is BS and they know it. They don’t care. Hurting people and ignorance is the point

Even if he vetos it, the legislature is just going to override him. We’ll see if he’s feeling generous to at least go on record.

Thank GOODNESS. Through his research with families and doctors, he admits that’s the care for trans youth is focused on things other than surgeries, and it’s clear the care can be life saving.

Now if only each of these ass-hats in the house did this same level of research they could put their false-beliefs aside to make the right decision to let people get the healthcare they need regardless of their gender identity.
