There’s a lot of great commercial adventure games being made today but with so many free games coming from the community, I thought it would be fun to have a place to give shoutouts to those.
I will start with Elsewhere in the Night. I’m a fan of the people involved with this one and the Manhunter-inspired artwork is really cool
Heroine’s Quest is a great free adventure/RPG.
I will always sing the praises of PISS
Check out Powerhoof, they have a lot of short games ranging from game jam length (believe some were winners at some game jams) to medium length, and basically consist of prototyping their point and click engine in advance of The Drifter. I recommend the Telwynium in particular
I have to say that “5 Days a Stranger” and its various successors have left a lasting impression on me. 🙂
For anybody who is into slightly creepy stories: highly recommended! ✨
Gotta mention AGD Interactive and the free Sierra games remakes with many improvements!
The OG free goat is Beneath a Steel Sky, which is freeware, has art by Dave gibbons of Watchmen fame. Definitely always worth a play if you have never checked it out.
