I wish my state did this. This is essentially my gold standard for voting reform (I do prefer STAR voting, but this is plenty sufficient).
Approval voting solves most of the problems with ranked choice voting. Here’s a good rundown comparing them (same source), though I obviously recommend doing your own research (there are some great YouTube videos as well that clarify how RCV falls short and approval improves on outcomes).
