Back then deep fakes were just becoming a thing. There was text-to-speech, but voice cloning wasn’t popular if I recall. It wasn’t until the AI boom in 2022 that that technology really took off.
I did try to search when generative voice AI started getting popular, but couldn’t find too much so I could be mistaken.
