For those who are unaware: A couple billionaires, a pilot, and one of the billionaires’ son are currently stuck inside an extremely tiny sub a couple thousand meters under the sea (inside of the sub with the guys above).
They were supposed to dive down to the titanic, but lost connection about halfway down. They’ve been missing for the past 48 hours, and have 2 days until the oxygen in the sub runs out. Do you think they’ll make it?
I think we all hope they get rescued but if they are on the bottom of the ocean the odds are not in their favor. Even if they are located in time it will take forever to attach a line to the craft and pull it up.
Why didn’t they have a plan of action for this? Why did they not think to put a location beacon on the craft, or a means of communication???
Well, they did have a means of communication. And it stopped working. Beacons don’t work underwater. There aren’t any other options.
Wait, what the hell do airplane black boxes do to give away it’s position underwater? unless it just like doesn’t.
Beacons work under water, just very short range unless they’re sonar. There are sonar beacons available but I believe the designer of this vessel was too cheap/arrogant to have them added.
Kind of ironic sense they were billionaires
Being cheap is how you become a billionaire sometimes.
If they’re too deep underwater, they don’t work either, which is why many airplanes that crashed into the sea were never found
