It is the original dev who is stepping down and who says he wasn’t actively involved with development for a while.
There are two candidates called mlem and memmy, which are currently available through TestFlight .
Memmy is updated almost daily at this point, the App has come a long way just this week even
Memmy is my favorite of them all so far. Gestures are too good to lose after being an Apollohead. Dev has been killing it with updates too.

Sounds like the app is just transferring ownership and might rebrand.
Hope the developer is ok, sounds like this is weighing heavily on them.
The original author quit, but he said he handed over everything to other devs. So no need (yet) to state stuff like “going dark”.
