I feel like if you have a chance to go up 3 scores, you take it. I don’t care that you want to stay aggressive. Force them to drive down 3 times. Put them on their backs.

I get wanting to go up by 7 instead of 3. I get 14 instead of 10. But you get a chance to go up 17, that just feels insurmountable. A team takes more risks, they make mistakes.

This was when the game turned in my opinion. Niners knew they still had a chance, and they fought tooth and nail for it.

Not forcing the niners to score across three possessions instead of two is just mind boggling to me.

That’s the move Campbell has made all year. If anything the field goal before half was uncharacteristic. I think you saw the lack of playoffs experience on display. Players cracked when they needed a few more plays to win the game.

I’m curious if he’s won or lost any games in that exact same scenario. Gambling a 3 possession lead for a few more points.

I get one or two possessions leads. But at some point you should just be thinking of maximizing the amount of times they need to score.

Against Dallas he went for a 4th and goal where a field goal would have tied or taken the lead and failed. It would have made the failed 2pt conversion not be an issue in that game.

Against the chargers going for it on 4th at the end of the game to keep the ball won the game.

Against the chiefs the fake punt early in the game created a spark that helped win that game.

Going for it on 4th and goal against the rams led to a touchdown that was key in a one point victory.

Pretty sure the packers on Thanksgiving had a fake punt or failed first down that wasn’t necessary that ultimately contributed to the loss.

He’s gone for it on a 4th down in almost every game, and on 4th and less than 3 it was about 80%.
