Somewhat unrelated but also interesting is that the ATF recently changed the background check form for buying a firearm in the US to have a third non-binary option. Always debated checking that off just to fuck with the possible reactionary standing behind the gun counter.
I remember reading about the court case and the first gender neutral passport. I just went through a bunch of nonsense to get mine renewed. Guess it’s time to send it in again and change it to x. Can’t wait to find out what kind of nonsense problems it will cause me with antiquated systems not having more than 2 options available for gender 😂

is it something that’s going to be spread across all the countries or each one of them can decide if go for it or not? because i can’t see texas going on with its plans while issuing X gendered passports.
this is not an issued devolved to the states, as passports are the purview of the federal government–so states have to go along with this (and might not even be involved with the process, actually, although i wouldn’t know since i don’t have a passport myself)
