I see Wizardry and Ultima, two games that were huge in Japan in the late 80’s through the 90’s and influenced so many JRPGs.
Being a Wizardry/Ultima/Fire Emblem dad in 80s/90s Japan feels like such a great vibe. Except for the bubble economy crash, but like, we already got that at home !
I can imagine the dad playing and the kid drawing the map on grid paper.
that’s gotta feel good if you do that while your kid is growing up and then she grows up to do manga clearly inspired by those childhood experiences
That and being parent of that one guy that directed Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia are probably on equal footing.
