    I have no knowledge of city planning, architecture, or anything related to building such a massive structure, yet I struggle to see how this isn’t a terrible idea.

    To be fair, they’re clearly trying to optimize for minimal distance to the city edge instead of maximal connectivity within the city. I have no idea why that would be a good thing, but that’s what criticism of the plan should address.

    Every point is a single point of failure. You can’t even detour around an accident.

    I mean… No need to be an expert in urban planning or architecture to see this project makes absolutely no practical sense. It’s merely one more totalitarian leader’s lunatic dick contest.
