    CBC gets about $1.2 billion from the government. The government collected about $332.2 billion in taxes. That means CBC is 0.36% of the budget. If every Canadian paid taxes equally, than you’d be charged $30 a year for CBC. But that’s not how taxes work at all. You’re probably paying less than $1 per year for CBC. If that’s make or break for you then you got some bigger problems to deal with.

      Journalism is one of the places it makes the MOST sense for taxpayers to be subsidizing. Advertiser and investor supported journalism is notoriously harmful. We would be better off defunding k-8 than journalism.
