Dawg the one time I used bnb I had to like read a rule list longer than the Bible and everything had labels on it. Nothing more relaxing than feeling like a criminal in your hotel room.

I love when they use the ALL CAPS like they need to shout so you’ll take them seriously. “ALL containers MUST be RECYCLED PROPERLY in the BLUE bins, EXCEPT FOR GLASS!!!”

Like okay Linda I get that people have misbehaved in the past but please lower your voice while I’m just trying to find the WiFi password.

“it’s illegal to commit a crime!”

I don’t really use AirBnB anymore, but the last few times I did I had to run around the rental and flip all the cameras down. Who knows how many I missed. Really creepy shit.

i’ve had more good experiences with AirBnB/VRBO, than bad, but yeah, i’m pretty sick of rolling the dice on it, or wondering if there’s a fucking camera in the bathroom.

turns out the hotel experience is reliable because of, let me see here, rules and regulations set over a significant period of time by a governing body in order to protect people from harmful/exploitative practices.

I rented one during Covid for a little family trip. We were going nuts and wanted to take a trip to the beach. Found a little house, seemed decent, was cheap. They had a few cameras and I turned them all down, immediately got a message about fixing it. I messaged back that they cannot record my children. Went silent.

Twice we woke up with the heat turned on and thermostat (was a Nest) turned up to the max temp. These shitty people turned up the temp in the middle of the night to spite us because I wouldn’t let them watch my children change clothes to go to the beach.

Rented “The Coffee House”. It had folgers. It had dirty dishes in the dishwasher which we were told we could wash. It smelled of feet and whatever the neighbors were freebasing off the leftover grill tinfoil on their front stoop.

    I’ll pass.
