People getting all out of shape about the age of the hobbits whereas Gandalf was created at the beginning of time, which is much older than 2019 years old. That’s likely the age of his current physical manifestation, but his spirit is truly ancient.

I’m British and I see it’s wrong because it simply isn’t true… We have a ton of spicy foods. The stereotype that we only eat comfort foods like in the meme is old and worn out. Maybe that’s all you eat, but that’s on you.

I guess one upside of living in a country that uses both metric and imperial frequently is that these things tend to click pretty quickly. The lack of consistency is annoying, though.

If I had this flyer delivered to me I’d use my reasoning skills to bin it, maybe mock it first. Seems silly not to deliver it. It’s only going to be read by the already bigoted. Any sensible individual knows what to do with it.

I appreciate this, it’s really good advice and what I try to do, but I can always be better.

At the moment I volunteer for a food bank that focuses on redistributing surplus food stocks from businesses instead of having them go to the bin. This is because I abhor waste.

I also volunteer for the Scouts because it upsets me to see young people glued to screens all the time, never leaving their home, and not knowing what the real world and real social situations are. Also, I missed out on a lot of these things as a child because I shied away from them and nobody encouraged me. I enjoyed hiking with my older brother and my uncle, but the premise of joining the Scouts was never even given to me as an option.

It’s amazing to see kids say “what’s this plant, what’s that tree, what is that mushroom, can I eat that berry?” and sometimes being able to answer them, or at least tell them how they can find themselves an answer. “Take a picture of it, do some research, tell me what you find out next week”

Now you’re speaking my language, come and shake my hand… actually, nevermind.

Story of my life. I just give a thumbs up to anybody who recklessly endangers my life for no reason. Happens daily, multiple times.

There are many reasons we are screwed as a species. There’s pretty much nothing I can do about it, unfortunately.

Whenever this discussion happens in my country, where the death penalty has been abolished, I always point them to cases like this. They argue “But we will be better”. Historically we have not been better, and we are only getting worse.

Fun fact: If you’ve said “Fuck you whale”, you don’t need to say “fuck you dolphin” as all dolphins are whales anyway. It would be like saying “Fuck you, Great apes (Hominidae) and fuck you human”

But you can say it if you want, it’s just superfluous, but many of life’s pleasures are.

The character that Gordon Ramsey puts on for Americans is so wild. Certainly he’s to the point and frank whenever he appears on British TV, but he’s far from this raging aggressive personality he has on American TV.

I would suggest that the camera man moves.

My least favourite was my company motto of “Personal, Simple, Brilliant.” It was supposed to be an ethos that ran through the whole company. It was actually just what management expected front line workers to be towards customers, regardless of whether the business leaders were making decisions to screw over the customer and the front line staff or not.

The amount of times I asked for support only to be shot down and laughed at when I told them “Well, that doesn’t sound very personal, simple or brilliant to me.” when speaking of their management culture.
