  • Seven of the 10 states that had an abortion ballot initiative passed one.

Arizona - Increased ban from 15 weeks to 24 weeks.

Colorado - Public state workers get abortion covered in their health insurance (it was already legal) in a state constitutional amendment.

Maryland - Constitutional amendment to shield health providers and doctors from charges for providing abortion services.

Missouri - Passed Amendment 3 to the Missouri constitution, really great win. This is defined in the text as the right to make and carry out decisions about all matters relating to reproductive healthcare including abortion, prenatal care, miscarriage care and more. Starting December 6th, Missourians can start suing the government to overturn now-unconstitutional abortion bans! (Side note, this may cover trans healthcare, but it will need to be tested in court to find out. Not explicit in the text).

Montana - In an amendment to the state Constitution, passed a quite comprehensive defense against the most common anti-abortion attacks.

Nevada - This one is kinda confusing. The first in a series of two ballot initiatives have passed to protect abortion until viability (24 weeks) has passed. However, to add it to the constitution, another initiative has to pass in 2026. It is currently legal abort up to 24 weeks by state law.

New York - Strengthened protections for trans medical care and abortion in the state constitution.

Florida failed to pass with 57% (needed 60%)
South Dakota - failed to pass with under 40% approval
Nebraska - Adds the 12 week ban on abortion to the state constitution.
