The Lions OL is being annihilated. I never thought it would be this bad

He picked guys who were good at very specific jobs, but terrible in all other aspects to not threaten him as HC. But these incompetent lackeys are so arrogant and incurious about the game that they never improved or adapted. Which was kind of the point of hiring them in the first place. But it leads to guys like Bill O’Brien trying to run every offense they’ve worked with for the past decade like it’s still the mid-2000s. Or Patricia and McDaniels being abusive dictators because they thought that’s what Bill’s secret was. But they tried to do it all themselves rather than hiring a group of highly specialized sycophants to do their bidding like Bill did. If Bill was abusive, it was probably to keep these morons in their place. They do it because that’s how they think a HC should act.

Brady benefited tremendously from BB’s defenses and his own longevity. He also had Randy Moss, Gronk, Alex Hernandez, Edelman, Wes Welker, a consistently impenetrable OL (b/c of underrated OL mastermind Dante Scarnecchia), and more HOF quality talent around him EVERY year. He really only became exceptional in his last decade, because he was fortunate to have over 10 full seasons of experience to lean on. The one downside to BB now, he keeps surrounding himself with garbage assistants like Joe Judge, Matt Patricia, and Bill O’Brien
