  • i generally agree, as a european i also said dumb shit because i lack the cultural knowledge WHY certain words are problematic. but pewdiepie was always kind of close to some weird folk. we all probably forgot about the meme review with ben shapiro and elon musk - that was before the “bridge incident” - there was also the t-series stuff which started out as a funny thing in good faith but it normalized racism. his song “removed lasagna” starts with “bobs or vegana, whatever will it be?” and includes lines like “hold your defecation”

in what sense is china a dictatorship? their political system completely differs from western democracies. on a communal level it is highly democractic on a communal level and seems to look out for it´s people in general. i am no huge china fan and have my own issues with it but strictly calling it a “dictatorship” and dismissing it as a valuable partner leaves a sour taste in my mouth - something about europeans with their own problems (rise of fascism and going the same path of billionaires dictating policy like the us) thinking they are the only valid democracy.

in what sense is the chinese government a big problem compared to the us with whom we try to keep good relations despite the fact they screw us over geopolitically the 1st chance they get? (they can ground ozr f35’s on a whim, nordstream was a thorn in their eyes, they sanction us for trying to be digitally independet etc.)

what did china do? sell cheap ev’s that compete with european manufacturers and they took over the lead in solar because european politicians stopped incentivizing innovation. wow.

  • i recently read “Traitor’s guide to North Korea” from the Artist Morten Traavik. In one section of the book he went into detail about relationships woth the nordics and the dprk, the embassys were doing some… questionable stuff. From Blood trails leading to the front door in Norway (they made a mess with their fishing haul) to embassy workers getting stopped in a diplomat’s car with kilos of hashish in their trunk.

i honestly believe they’d be interesting neighbours. The neighbor of the Embassy in Oslo actually became friends with the 2 workers.
