I haven’t done anything like this, but I wouldn’t try to directly send to anything over the internet, if you have Amy issues will connection speed it will create a large backup. Your fastest and lightest would be to transfer via USB to a phone and then have the phone upload, by I think this requires special apps that may not be very fast.
Wireless usually has too big of a delay. Capture one and Cascable can supposedly do wired to iOS devices, but I haven’t tried it. Bringing a computer will probably be the best option unfortunately. You go get a gpd mini laptop for portability.

As a participant, if there are over a certain number of participants it tells me I have to pay to see the rest.
TBH it’s been going downhill for the last couple years since they made groups pay a yearly (I think) fee. There used to be all kinds of fun free groups but it’s slowly becoming only sponsored groups or pay to attend meetups.
They already made it so you have to pay for meetup+ to see meeting attendees or message anyone but the organizer.

There is GCam photos preview on Izzyondroid (or Calyx) f-droid repo that is supposed to allow you to preview photos using the little photo thumb while using stock GCam.
For me the zen interface is really nice. I tried out Zen because of a lemmy post and liked their interface so much more than firefox I instantly switched.
Seconding Pixelix, but I had to get version 3.2 from github for it to work. (It looks like 3.2 is on izzyondroid now but not yet f-droid).
Besides the lack of dark mode, the official app is too Instagram copy for me.
