The problem is i cant ignore them. Whenever I discuss Socialism on reddit, often against capitalists, the DemSocs come out to criticise the ML position. The moment i mention China being socialist they come flying out to condemn it as a hyper-capitalist state, or if i mention how a socialist state needs to be able to protect itself from internal reactionaries they immediately mention the 2000 bazillion deaths that supposedly occured. They are so frustrating and just seem like little libshits under a new name, and all their socialism seems to be entirely concerned with issues in western countries like healthcare reform, when for me its just about basic fucking human rights and exploitation around the world.

I don’t think it’s just because of Ukraine. At this point it is pretty obvious that there isn’t a Uyghur Genocide. I mean it’s supposed to have been going on for what, 6 years now? And yet clearly the population still exists, and is going about their ordinary lives, in fact they’re more visible now than before since they’ve become deradicalised. Not to mention that there was never a massive refugee crisis or other obvious signs, while the only evidence we have is the same couple of prison photos being used over and over again. To be brutally honest, if China wanted to kill 12 million people they’d do it in about 6 months.

I’ve seen it begin to be called a cultural genocide more and more, (which is bullshit) because its so obvious that there hasn’t been a real genocide. It was an attempt to destablise China, fund a terrorist movement in Xinjiang, and get the world to condemn and stop trading with China, but it didn’t work and it’s not possible to keep the lie going forever. They’ll just quietly forget about it and pretend they never said it.

This is so true. I studied history at university and when i look back, none of the major arguments really contradicted a marxist perspective, they always revolve around class and economics, its the natural conclusion for any decent historian, they just dont realise they’re being marxist.

Because they grow up with it and it becomes their identity so they cant let it go without metaphorically killing themselves.

Well i already lost the debate on reddit, i said Lenin said it but then could not provide the quote, and was given a counter quote that Lenin said we shouldnt support capitalist states ever even against imperialism, but they were also taking that out of time and context.

Recently there was a series of weird bans towards genzedong members, totally random for posts months or weeks ago, including myself, for things like “abusive behaviour” even though the comments were lacking that. My ban was changed to a week long mute when i simply replied with “What?”. Seems to me like some kind of stealth attempt at purging the sub of proper leftists and just leaving it full of fake commie libs.
