I understand, but if you are new to this conversation app, right after installing it would be good to know which of your contacts your are able to talk to there. I don’t see asking one by one and adding them manually a good solution, maybe there is another one I don’t see

What is the problem in asking for pulling your contact list? Isn’t it to check which of your contacts also have telegram?

Yep, decisions like not allowing movie distribution companies to own any cinema would not happen these days

They don’t even need to go through a middle third party instance, they just have to have a ghost instance that nobody know it belongs to them and this one will federate with everybody else

For example if you go to FMHY federated instances, there is one called evil.social , that could be from Meta or Google or NSA… nobody knows

If you for example only produce/sell 1 litre of a product, then all your costs(plant, distribution, people, suppliers…) will be spread throuout this 1 litre you sell, but if you could sell 1000 litre of that product the cost per litre would be lower. Of course your overall costs will increase with your output increase, but not on the same level. That’s called Economy of Scale

They will collect or probably are already collecting. Even if everyone defederate from Threads, they can and will open a secret instance and get all the data without anyone knowing it

We have interoperability for emails but most people use gmail/microsoft , so you could be tracked even if you use protonmail
