I was going to say the same thing, what we are experiencing right now isn’t organic growth, it is an exodus, I think it is inevitable that instances will disagree at one point or another and decide to defederate but making these decisions now feels like jumping the gun.

yes definitely, I am also going to just install blas-openblas and forget about it, however I just added the part about benchmarking for people that run research/ machine-learning stuff regularly , figuring out which implementation is faster for their use case is worth it.

that’s how I read it too in general, unless you want squeeze the maximum performance you can of a specific application, then you will need to benchmark each implementation, (including other options such as mkl) and see in practice which is superior for you.

on the front page, there is a very important selector: subscribed/local/all, by clicking “all” you will see posts from all other instances, and you can subscribe to communities in other instances so they will show up in “subscribed”. if you select “local” (default) only posts from this instance will be visible.
