Lenovo should be out just by virtue of being a Chinese company. You should not trust critical security devices to Chinese companies.

One major downside of hybrid working really is that if you are having a meeting where even a single person is not there, then the entire meeting may as well be a video call. If you are on a video call, then why do you need to be in the office for it?
At my job we work with physical objects, so being in office is a requirement at least part of the time, but if I’m just going to be in meetings for most of the day, there is no way I’m going into the office just to sit on video calls all day.
Considering that HP is the other choice that most businesses consider, I’d take the Dell 100% of the time. HP’s laptops are complete and utter trash.
The article more or less covers it. Asian countries without a credit card culture mostly transitioned to QR because it was easy with minimal equipment changes required. Those with widespread credit cards accept tap and QR (e.g. Taiwan widely accepts QR payments, Google pay, Apple pay, credit cards, and transit cards).
Since the western world has been on credit cards for decades that is the solution that is accepted there with QR payments being almost exclusively in businesses that have a customer base from Asian countries. Even then the US is odd compared to other countries since they never really adopted chip and pin.
When answering “Are you going to leave?” or similar questions don’t say yes or no. Say you are always interested in whatever options are best for your career. If the business can continue to provide the best option then there is no reason for you to leave.
Not uncommon but lots of printers on the market (especially hobbyist ones) are kits that you need to assemble. Bambu printers are pretty much remove the printer from the box, remove some brackets, tape and protective packaging before installing the build plate and spool holder and turning it on.
I’d recommend going for the P1S if you can swing it over the P1P for the enclosure.
I agree with the suggestion, Bambu A1mini is the only printer in that price range I would be willing to purchase and expect for it to work properly. While there are plenty of people happy with their Creality and Sovol printers, they often end up being project printers that require a lot of tinkering to keep them running well and those that aren’t prepared for that shouldn’t buy them.
I like to say there is two different hobbies here, if you want 3D Printing to be you hobby, then spend the money on a known reliable printer, if you want 3D Printers to be your hobby, then buy a cheap printer and get ready to tinker.
A couple other people have recommended resin printers, which are probably better for that you want to do. But be aware that resin is pretty nasty stuff and you need to have the printer in a very well ventilated area and should wear all the recommended safety equipment. You shouldn’t get into resin printing unless you are aware of safety requirements which are often downplayed by people who own them.
Most every mall in Asian countries I’ve visited has this system already. This may just be a North America being cheap problem.
Most image sensors are not square, they are 4:3 or 16:9. Square sensors are typically used for more specialty applications.
I agree it could be useful on a phone to have 1:1 sensors, but I would still support the direct recording to standard video resolutions and aspect ratios as otherwise encoder limitations will affect what video you can shoot.
Yes they should be allowed to run for Prime Minister, no they shouldn’t be allowed to be a party leader if they refuse to go through the process when given the opportunity.
Yeah that is an annoying thing that manufacturers have done. I bought a Gen 3 motherboard since everyone said that GPUs didn’t even utilize Gen 4 yet, but now the exact people that are wanting a budget card and motherboard combo have that incompatibility due to manufacturer cheapness.
My secret tip is to brown one side of the tortilla, remove it from the pan and then use that side as the inside of the quesadilla to put your cheese and toppings on. Not only does it make the tortilla more crunchy, but the heat helps to melt the cheese.
I’m sure Asus were cursing that Computex happened this month and GN were already planning on coming to Taiwan.
Is PCIe bandwidth a practical limitation at the moment for consumers? While it means you can use fewer lanes off the CPU there is no practical reason for consumers to be upgrading often enough to utilize faster generations. My impression was that the later generations are for server applications where more efficient use of PCIe lanes is a real benefit.
Right now? I’m a 6’2" pasty white guy in Asia (or Casper per my favourite overheard discussion).
Yup, they took feedback from customers and have provided modified components for customers that want to purchase them. Speakers, hinges, screens, stiffer chassis. All able to be replaced with the included screwdriver and guides online.
Oblivion had quality of life improvements that made it a better game IMO. Yes Morrowind was bigger and deeper, but it was also a frustrating game that didn’t age very well.
Frankly it boggle my mind that these companies aren’t profitable with the amount they charge already. They continue to burn through money marketing and developing an app that should have been “done” a decade ago.
I have a first Gen core i5 Framework 13. I’ve upgraded a couple components that weren’t so great on those units (hinge and speakers) and the upgrades were easy. Otherwise I’ve been pretty happy with it and haven’t felt a need to upgrade the mainboard yet
For die casting, it is post processing. After the part comes out of the mold there is the sprue, overflow tabs, and flash (extra material at the parting line) that needs to be cleaned up. Then the parts are often chromate conversion coated and then finished with either a wet paint or powder coat. Plating is also an option.
For injection molding, parts typically come out of the mold fully finished (or just requiring gate removal). The vast majority of parts are only textured where the final finish is part of the mold. You can do anything from a high polish to rough textures, or even any crazy pattern or simulated material you can imagine. For graphics you can apply in-mold decoration where a film is placed in the mold before the plastic is injected. There are some post processing finishes that are pretty frequently done such as wet painting and plating.
